Truth is often not a pleasant thing, for which reason we have many people massaging it, suppressing it, sweetening it, dressing it up and flirting with it. But really what is truth? And why is it better than lie? Or why is bitter truth better than a sweet lie? Like love, truth is very difficult to define. At best we can only describe what it is. To put it simply, truth is that which is real and right. It is what will be left standing after all is said and done. I concede that sometimes the truth is bitter (painful). But while a soothing lie may offer some comfort , in the end it delivers a much more painful experience than we would have received at the beginning. Truth is better than lies because truth sets free while lies enslave. Learn to accept the truth. Being able to accept truth is a sign of meekness. Not being able to accept truth is sign of weakness.
